First Friday events slated.

First Friday Shawnee will be held Friday, Nov. 1. It will take place in eight different venues along Main Street. Each venue hosts their own show: various combinations of live music, art shows, culinary treats, and activities.

Participating venues work with the Downtown Arts Association - a non-profit arts council focused on downtown revitalization and community-building - to grow this monthly event that has been successful in drawing communities together through the arts across the nation. Each hosting merchant is committed to a blossoming downtown - and all Downtown establishments are eligible to participate in this family-friendly event.

Venues include: Around the World Travel/Shawnee Travel (102 E Main); Crow’s Main Fruit Market (730 E Main); Kathy’s Past & Present Antique Mall (14 E Main); Main Street Photo Studio & Gallery (420 E Main); Old Owl Shoppe (6 E Main); Sweet Earth Studio (421 E Main); The Doggie Spot (12A E Main); The Fifth Element (16 E Main).

The Downtown Arts Association will host free children’s art activities inside its headquarters at Sweet Earth Studio (421 E Main).

Admission to each venue is free.
