The prep hoops season tipped off Friday night at the Earlsboro Festival as Earlsboro swept Wanette — 64-36 in the boys' game and 75-20 in the girls' game.

The Earlsboro boys opened their season with a 64-36 win over Wanette. Derick McCormick paced Earlsboro (1-0) with 22 points. Austin Sanders chipped in 16 points for the hosts.
Meanwhile, Ryan Stidham and TJ Cobb each scored seven points to lead Wanette (0-1).
On the girls’ side, Earlsboro was a 75-20 victor against Wanette. Megan Ashley led Earlsboro with 33 points while Kourtney Jones added 32.
Destiny Knighton was Wynette’s top scorer with six points.
The action continues Saturday as the Earlsboro girls take on Byng at 6 p.m., and the Earlsboro boys face Byng at 7:30 p.m.
