Shawnee Public Library to present basic computer class series.
The Shawnee Public Library will host a three-part series of classes for new computer users in the Computer Training Center of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
Registration is required separately for each class and may be completed at the library or by calling 275-6353.
The schedule includes:
Introduction to Computers, 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19 – For new computer users, a look at basic terms and functions, including a lesson using a mouse.
Introduction to the Internet, 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20 – Basic tips on searching the World Wide Web. For new computer users.
Getting Started with Email, 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21 – Create a free email account using one of several free services available online.
Get sharp for the ACT with free library class
The Shawnee Public Library hosts the free class “Preparing for the ACT” for high school students at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 21, in the Computer Training Center of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
Participants will learn about the library database Learn-a-Test, which gives a chance for building test-taking skills prior to their testing day.
Space is limited so registration is required to attend the class.
