  • Lady Bison Fall to Texas Wesleyan in SAC Tournament

  • Oklahoma Baptist was defeated 4-2 by Texas Wesleyan in the first round of the Sooner Athletic Conference Tournament played in Shawnee, Okla. Saturday night.
    The Lady Bison scored first, when Nicol Lagos took a pass from Taler Campbell and buried it in the back of the net in the 12th minute.
    TWU responded quickly, when Alexis Michaelkovich scored the first of her three goals in the 19th minute.
    Michaelkovich scored again before halftime as the Lady Rams took a 2-1 lead into intermission. She completed her hat trick when she scored in the 48th minute to give Texas Wesleyan a two goal advantage.
    The Lady Rams would score again in the 74th minute to take a 4-1 lead.
    Campbell scored in the 80th minute to bring OBU within two, but that would be as close as the Lady Bison would get.
    OBU was unable to convert on several shots throughout the match, and outshot the Lady Rams 21-15 for the game, including a 16-5 advantage in the second half.
    Maddie Windham led the Lady Bison with four shots, two of which were on goal. As a team OBU took 12 shots on goal.
    Junior goalkeeper JJ Kosa had four saves in the loss.
    OBU finished the season 9-8 with a 7-3 record against SAC opponents.
