A Shawnee man and a passenger remained hospitalized in critical condition Thursday after being injured in an accident on Bethel Road.
It’s unknown what exactly happened as that accident remains under investigation by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.
Storm A. Robinson, 20, Shawnee, and Jody L. Patterson, 38, Oklahoma City, both remained hospitalized in the ICU Thursday at OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, a hospital spokeswoman said.
Both were injured in an accident about 7:12 p.m. Tuesday night on Bethel Road, slightly west of Lake Road in Pottawatomie County.
Trooper Tyson Wright’s report shows Robinson was driving a 2006 Ford Mustang when that crash occurred.
The narrative on the trooper’s report doesn’t list anything other than the collision still being under investigation, although the driver’s condition is listed as being normal at the time of that crash.
Robinson was pinned in the wreckage about 55 minutes before being freed by Shawnee and Bethel Acres firefighters using the Hurst tool, the patrol reported.
Robinson was transported from the scene by Medi Flight helicopter ambulance to Oklahoma City with internal, external and leg injuries, the patrol reported.
Patterson, who also suffered, internal, external and leg injuries, went by REACT EMS ambulance to OU Medical Center, the OHP reported.
The trooper’s report does show both occupants of the Ford Mustang were wearing seat belts.
