Memorial services for Thomas Jackson Goodin, 69, of Ardmore, formerly of Love County, will be at 2 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013, in the military area of Rose Hill Cemetery in Ardmore, conducted by Fr. Randy Simmons.
He was the youngest child of Dale W. and Laura B. Kouns Goodin, born Oct. 15, 1944, at Ardmore, and died Nov. 15, 2013, at his home following an extended illness.
A lifelong resident of the area, Goodin spent most of his adult life in and around Ardmore and Marietta vicinity. He was an Army veteran and a certified welder. He loved working outdoors and loved horses. He spent many hours working with them and talked about them frequently.
Preceding him in death were his parents; an infant son, Jackie Lynn Goodin; and a brother, William Emmitt "Bill" Goodin.
He is survived by a son, Thomas Jackson Goodin Jr. of Ardmore; his chosen children, Kendra Boyd, Emmie and brother Joseph Myers and several chosen grandchildren, all of Ardmore; a brother, D.W. Goodin and wife, Asako of Honolulu, Hawaii; a sister, Yvone Goodin McGinnis and husband, Phillip of Marietta; several nieces and nephews; close friend, Thurman Rail; and the staff at Ardmart Grocery and Deli where he always enjoyed stopping for coffee and visiting with friends at every opportunity.
