No. 23 Oklahoma Baptist defeated Langston 87-76 Friday to wrap up a perfect 2-0 showing at the Capital City Classic hosted by Oklahoma City at Abe Lemons Arena in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The Lady Bison never trailed, and led by as much as 15 in the first half on the way to the 11 point victory.
Tasha Edge tipped in an OBU miss as time expired in the first half to give the Lady Bison a 41-36 advantage at halftime.
The Lady Lions committed 19 turnovers, which OBU turned into 23 points.
OBU shot 52.2 percent from the field for the game, compared to 44 percent for LU.
Janell Beacham led the Lady Bison with her third double-double of the season, scoring 18 points and pulling down 10 rebounds.
Jalissa Council added 18 points on 7-12 shooting, Zbeyda Aremi blocked two shots, and Elisabeth Daniels had four steals.
Langston was led by Lynette Holms, who finished with 25 points, going 9-9 from the free throw line.
OBU, now 7-1, will open up Sooner Athletic Conference play December 5, when they travel to USAO.
