St. Gregory’s University’s Performing Arts Department performs tonight.

St. Gregory’s University’s Performing Arts Department is debuting The Odd Couple  this evening at 8 p.m. in Sarkeys Performing Arts Center on the university’s campus.

The classic comedy by Neil Simon follows the experiences of neat freak Felix Ungar and messy sportswriter Oscar Madison as they share an apartment. The play premiered on Broadway in 1965 and later became the basis for a popular television show in the ’70s.

St. Gregory’s theatre seniors Jimmy Mitchell and Connor Maguire play Felix and Oscar, respectively.

The Odd Couple is directed by St. Gregory’s Director of Theatre Carly Conklin who promised audiences an evening full of nostalgia and fun.

“Working on The Odd Couple has been a blast for myself and for the students,” Conklin said. “It's hard to beat a night of John Denver, terrible ’70s home decor, and Neil Simon's smart one-liners.”

Additional performances of The Odd Couple will take place at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Tickets are $10 for adults, $8 for students and $5 for children and can be purchased one hour prior to each performance at the box office located in the theatre lobby or by visiting and clicking the online purchase link.
