SHAWNEE — Dominique Rambo, playing in his first game since earning NAIA co-Player of the Year honors last season, scored 40 points and led third-ranked Southwestern Assemblies of God past Oklahoma Baptist 89-76 in the Noble Complex Thursday. Rambo scored on 15 of 30 field goal attempts and was 8 of 12 from the free throw line. He also tied for his team's lead with three assists and two steals. The performance overshadowed a strong performance by Morris Woods, who scored 35 points for the Bison, connecting on 11 of 15 field goals and 11 of 16 free throws. OBU enjoyed a 24-17 lead as late as the 8:17 mark of the first half but the Lions turned the game with a 10-0 run. Woods tied the game for the Bison with 2:49 left in the half, but SAGU outscored OBU 8-3 from there to intermission. SAGU (8-1, 1-0) led by as many as 14 late in the game. Joining Woods in double-figure scoring for the Bison were Aaron Abram and Cale Jackson with 12 each. Woods land Abram had seven rebounds each for OBU, while Kendall Parks had five assists, two blocked shots and two steals.
