  • The Shawnee Public Library hosts a pair of free classes titled “Preparing for the ACT” for high school students at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan 11, and again at 4:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, in the Computer Training Center of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
    Participants will learn about the library database Learn-a-Test, which gives a chance for building test-taking skills prior to their testing day.
    Space is limited so registration is required to attend either class.

    Shawnee teens can make “Cool Crayon Art” at the library
     
    Make some “Cool Crayon Art” in a Shawnee Public Library teen craft program, set for 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, in Community Rooms A and B of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
    Teens will create an original post-a-note artwork for display in the library and then heat things up a notch making personal make -and-take art using melted crayons.
    Supplies for the project will be provided by the library.
    Registration is not required to take part.

    Shawnee sets class in Digital Photo Editing
     
    Make photos stand out with the Shawnee Public Library’s Digital Photo Editing for Beginners class, at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 14, in the Computer Training Center of the library, 101 N. Philadelphia Ave.
    Participants will learn how to touch up their photos with their computer. The class is an introduction to the digital photo editing program Paint.net.
    Computer experience and skills are required and space is limited so registration should be completed in advance to attend.
