McLoud chalked up seven 3-point field goals but Prague responded with five 3-pointers and a 20 of 26 outing from the charity stripe. Prague will begin Byng Tournament play at 5:30 p.m. Thursday. Indians sweep Whippets ASHER — Tarin Dubler, Shelby Fleming and their fellow Lady Indians proved too much for visiting Varnum in Asher's 54-19 win Tuesday. Fleming, a sophomore forward, and Dubler, a freshman guard, each scored 17 points. Tari Dubler, Asher head girls basketball coach, was satisfied with the victory. “I felt like we played a complete game,” she said. The win moved the Asher girls to 10-2 on the season. Fleming added eight rebounds and four blocks for the Lady Indians. Meanwhile, Karena and Kyle Tarpey, who each scored six points, led the Whippets. Asher will be back in action against Maysville at 4 p.m. today during the Jim Walling Classic in Earlsboro. Later in the evening, the Asher Indians boys' squad grabbed a win of their own. The Indians triumphed 64-55 over the Whippets. Tim Johnson was Asher's high scorer with 22 points. Tanner Andrews and Caleb Dubler added 14 apiece for Asher. Lady Pirates improve to 4-4 LUTHER — Strong team play was credited with pushing the Dale Lady Pirates to their fourth win of the campaign. Seven players scored for Dale. Leading the way were senior guard Brayden Newton (17 points) and freshman guard Hannah Ash (13 points). Josh Forsythe, Dale girls head basketball coach said he was proud of how the team gave together to claim a road win. “It was a good overall effort,” He said. Cougars snare Savages TECUMSEH — The visiting Ada Lady Cougars took the spoils with a 52-23 victory Tuesday. Senior Sami Jewett, who had 17 points, paced Ada. Jewett scored 15 of her points from 3-point range. Senior Aaliyah Blakley added 14 points for Ada. Hilary Babbit led the way for the home side with 17 points.
