  • Wilburton woman sentenced

  • Wilburton woman draws 5 years probation.

  • The United States Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, has announced that Heather Rae Helton, 40, of Wilburton, was sentenced to 5 years of probation and ordered to pay $20,940.00 in restitution for Making A False Statement.
     
    The charge arose from an investigation by the Social Security Administration, Office of Inspector General. The defendant was indicted in August, 2013 and pled guilty in September, 2013.
     
    The Indictment alleged that on or about Sept. 25, 2011, in the Eastern District of Oklahoma, the Defendant did knowingly make and cause to be made a materially false, fictitious, and fraudulent statement and representation in a matter within the jurisdiction of the Social Security Administration, an agency of the United States.
     
    The Honorable James H. Payne, District Judge in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma, in Muskogee, presided over the hearing.
