  • Douglas Fels, 58, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, at Ardmore. The family will be having a private service at a later date, under the direction of Hillcrest Crematory.
Douglas was born Feb. 13, 1955, to Ralph Fels and Edith (Mace) Fels at Indianapolis.
He married Dana M. Fels on Sept. 2, 1995, at Hot Springs, Ark. Douglas served his country in the United States Navy. He was honorably discharged after the loss of his leg. He always made sure children and adults were comfortable with it.
Douglas will be remembered as a very loving man. He opened his heart to whomever he met. Not only devoting himself to his six children, Doug and his wife had an open door policy to help any children in need. Although Douglas's health kept him down physically, he always rose to greet people with a smile, never letting his illness get the best of him.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Marie (Mace) Fels.
Douglas is survived by his father, Ralph Fels; wife, Dana Fels of the home; children Bay Lee Fels of the home, Jessica Fels of Durant, Heather Devries of Ardmore, Douglas Fels Jr. of Ardmore, Chad Breger of Marietta and Kerry Fels of Killeen, Texas; and seven grandchildren, Brandon Skott Fels, Keylee Fels, Abigale Fels, Pryee Sears, Robert Sears, Ashton Fels, and Keyley Fels.
