Seminole State schedules symposium April 24-25.
Submissions are now being accepted for the fourth annual Howlers and Yawpers Creativity Symposium sponsored by the Language Arts and Humanities Division at Seminole State College. Submissions are open to the public from now until Feb. 14.
The symposium will be a two-day event April 24 – 25 in the Jeff Johnston Fine Arts Center on the SSC campus. Submission forms are available online at http://yawpers.kellimcbride.com, or you may request a form be emailed to you by calling or emailing Jessica Isaacs at 405-382-9209 / email@example.com.
The symposium is a showcase of emerging and professional Oklahoma artists, writers, musicians, dancers, and actors.
Professionals as well as community members, students and faculty will present a wide variety of musical performances, dances, creative writings, theatrical performances and artistic demonstrations over the two days. Last year, over 200 people attended the free event, which featured over 26 performances and presentations.
The Howlers and Yawpers Creativity Symposium was established by the faculty of the SSC Language Arts and Humanities Division in the spring of 2011 as a free, fully accessible celebration of Oklahoma creative expression, in all of its diverse forms.
“We hope this symposium will encourage all those who attend and participate to find passion in their creative arts and appreciate the role the fine art play in education,” said Jessica Isaacs, Division Chair of the Language Arts and Humanities Division.
