Oklahoma City – OKC Energy FC today announced head coach Jimmy Nielsen and the MLS Cup will make a tour through the city beginning January 15. Nielsen, named head coach of Energy FC in late December, was goaltender of the MLS Cup winning Sporting Kansas City squad just a few short weeks ago. MLS Cup will make stops at several locations in the city, at partner locations and at locations available to the public beginning at Soccer City at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, January 15. Other public locations to meet Jimmy and view MLS Cup are Sheraton Downtown Oklahoma City, Buy 4 Less at SW 29th and May, The 51st Street Speakeasy and a location determined by Energy FC fans via a social media contest. The cup's first tour stop will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. today at Soccer City on 4520 Old Farm Road in Oklahoma City. Then, there will be three stops on Thursday, Jan. 16. The first of the Thursday stops will be at 1 p.m. at the Sheraton on 1 N. Broadway Ave. From there, the MLS Cup goes to Buy 4 Less on 2701 SW 29th Street at 3 p.m. The final Thursday stop is the 51st Street Speakeasy at 1114 NW 51st Street at 8 p.m. The last stop of the tour will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday, January 17. Fans may vote for the final stop of the MLS Cup tour via the Energy's social media accounts on Facebook (/EnergyFC), Twitter (@EnergyFC) and Google+ (+EnergyFCOKC).
