Asher, Dale won in slow-pitch softball action Tuesday.

Asher extends record to 11-3

ASHER — Class 2A second-ranked Asher recorded 12 hits to go along with three Mill Creek errors to post an 11-3 victory Tuesday.

Haylee Andrews and Malerey Luman of Asher had an RBI double and single apiece. Haley Odell also had a run-scoring two-bagger.

The game was stopped after five innings on the run rule as Asher elevated its record to 14-5.

Asher will entertain Tupelo at 5:30 p.m. Thursday.

McGill, Horn homer in loss

MAUD — Despite three hits apiece from Addie McGill and Summer Horn, Maud dropped a 14-9 decision to Class 5A ninth-ranked Holdenville Tuesday.

McGill and Horn each notched a home run and McGill finished with three runs batted in.

Dallas Tiger of Maud went 2-for-4 with a run-scoring triple.

Maud’s next action will be Monday, April 7 against visiting Stratford.

Dale doubles up Chandler

In a wild offensive showdown, Dale outlasted Chandler 22-11 Tuesday.

Chandler led 11-10, only to watch Dale score 12 runs in the bottom of the fourth as 17 batters paraded to the plate.

The game was terminated on the run rule after 4 ½ innings.

Dale combined 16 hits with seven walks and five Chandler errors.

Kensi Stith of Dale posted two hits and drove in five runs, including a grand-slam home run in the fourth. Teammate DaLacey Dockrey posted a 3-run triple in the fourth and finished with four runs batted in. Also recording four RBI was Jaelin Flewallen, who smashed a 3-run HR in the first.

Chandler notched 14 hits but Dale had just one error.

“We played pretty well,” Dale coach Andy Powell said. “We stayed the course when they got ahead early.”

Dale, 13-5, will launch Harrah Tournament  action Thursday at 12:30 versus McGuinness. The tournament will continue through Friday.
