Participation requires only a decision to make your better health, nutrition, and fitness a top priority, and following through daily with consistent actions, that will make your goals a reality. The alternative to improved health is certainly not very appealing, but will definitely be a possibility if we continue to take our active lifestyle for granted. I challenge you to view each day as another opportunity to make gains on your health improvement goals, whatever they may be. If losing weight is your goal right now, view tomorrow as just another day that you can use to improve your weight loss. Stay positive! Please don’t see your choice for a vegetables over French fries as some form of punishment, but instead bask in the glory of your decision to minimize the possibility of clogging your arteries, and providing your body valuable vitamins and minerals. See your healthy choices as victory, that will help you manage your weight, look better, feel better, and perform better than you have in years!
The Center for Disease and Control estimates that a third of all Americans age 50 and older are sedentary. In addition, other research shows that nearly 70% of Americans are overweight or obese! And let's not forget that kids are getting heavier at earlier ages! This is very serious, so we have got to start taking our vitamins, drinking proper fluids, eating right, and get moving with exercise for the rest of our lives! Life is simply too short, so we have got to take steps daily to stay healthy and make the most of each and every second of it. Please don’t take your health for granted, because it will decline with age, if you are inactive. It doesn’t have to be that way, because we have the choice to do something about it each and every day. I challenge you to look for fun and creative ways to consciously be active at a level that will help you maintain and improve your current strength, brain function, cardio respiratory capacity, endurance, balance, and flexibility. If you are not in the best shape of your life right now, it can all begin today, by including better nutrition, vitamins, exercise, proper rest, and proper fluids into your weekly schedule of planned activities.
