As summer quickly approaches, I must start organizing my summer to-do list.
Before I start my list I reminisce on the summers I enjoyed most as a kid.
Days spent at the pool, standing in long lines at the snowcone stand and staying up all night with the girls as we watch Nicholas Sparks movies were some of the best memories I have made.
The laughter, fun and relaxation brought such joy to my face as I prepare for this summer.
However, this summer is a special summer. It is not only the summer I pack up and move across country, but it is my last summer of freedom before I hit the real-world.
Some of my plans may include floating down a river with friends, having a picnic in a park enjoying the summer breeze, catching up with friends I haven’t seen in months but lastly, spending time with my family as I prepare for this spontaneous journey.
My family means a lot to me; they have been my anchor in my life for as long as I remember.
As a young woman, I have been able to grow up in a loving and welcoming home. The love they have for me brings tears to my eyes and thinking I will be in a new town alone scares me.
Through the moves and heartaches, my family has never left my side; it will be heartbreaking to leave them for two months.
I encourage you to make the most of summers. Whether you are able to enjoy the whole summer off or simply enjoy a few days off to relax in the warm sun.
Specifically, I hope you will make time for your family. The more time you can spend with them, the more you can treasure the memories made.
Also, it wouldn’t hurt to lay out by the pool and bask in the hot sun or enjoy the nature around you.
