  • A Shawnee attorney who was removed from a local law firm in January is currently suspended by the Oklahoma Supreme Court and cannot practice law in the state.
The attorney, Robert Samuel Duran Jr., was suspended on March 4, according to the Oklahoma Bar Association.
OBA General Counsel Gina Hendryx confirmed the suspension late Friday afternoon but said it is a confidential matter.
“Mr. Duran is currently suspended from practice by the Oklahoma Supreme Court,” she said, adding that Duran can’t practice any type of law in the state. Because it is a confidential suspension, she couldn’t disclose any further information.
Duran was a member of a Shawnee law firm from 2009 until January.
Mike Clover, with Stuart and Clover, PLLC, said issues arose that led to a partner meeting, which concluded with Duran being removed from the firm on Jan. 4.
Because of client confidentiality issues, Clover said he could make no other comments.
Attempts to reach Duran by phone for comment on the suspension were unsuccessful.
    Watch for updates.
