The Shawnee track squad won the combined title at the Coweta Tiger Track Invitational on Friday, claiming four event titles.
COWETA – The Shawnee track team finished first at the Coweta Tiger Track Classic on Friday, winning four events in the process.
The Lady Wolves finished with 160.5 points in the girls team standings, 58.5 points ahead of second place Holland Hall.
Shawnee won both the 1600 and 3200 relays, while Kelsey Simmons set a school record in winning the 400-meter dash in 57.2 seconds.
Tate Mocabee led a sweep of the top-three spots in the 800 meters, with Mo Tramble and Paige Hughes finishing second and third.
The Lady Wolves also had a second place finish in both the 400 and 800 relays while Dottie Lee finished second in the 300-meter hurdles.
In other events Alexis Freeman finished third in the high jump, while Daylan Storie and Sadie Cullison finished third and fourth in the 3200 meters. Veangele Williams finished fourth in the 100 meters. Maddie Rutherford was third in the pole vault.
On the boys side the Wolves finished second in the 400 relay and also got a second place finish from Malik Sharp in the discus.
Shadrach Smith finished third in the 200 and fourth in the 100, while Isaiah Strayhorn and Isaiah Slaughter were third and fourth in the long jump.
Devon Watts and Coby Barham finished third in their events, the 110-meter hurdles and the pole vault, respectively.
Shawnee track’s next meet will be Friday, May 2 at the Suburban Conference Championships.
