The Pirates scored six runs in the second in defeating the No.1 team in Class A for the second time this season.

DALE – A six-run second inning helped propel the Dale Pirates to a 10-4 win over Roff on Monday.

The Tigers (24-7) took the early lead with three in the first and one more in the top of the second for a 4-1 advantage before the Pirates rallied for a lead they would never relinquish.

Hunter Pinkston overcame a rough start to pitch five solid innings for his second win of the year. Lane Cox pitched two scoreless innings in relief.

Pinkston was also one of three Pirates with two hits. Dalton Tillison and Cox also had two hits apiece. Cox had a two-run home run in the third that made the score 9-4 at the time.

The Pirates (20-6) will take on Carl Albert on Tuesday.
