Shawnee's Summer Skillern shot a round of 98 to qualify for the 5A state golf championships

MCALESTER – Posting a score of 98, Shawnee’s Summer Skillern qualified for next week’s state championships at the 5A golf regional at McAlester Country Club on Tuesday.

Skillern finished second among the individual qualifiers and will play in the 5A State Tournament on May 7 and May at the Duncan Golf and Country Club in Duncan.

The Lady Wolves finished eighth as a team with a total of 455. The top six teams qualified for the state tournament.

Other scores for the Lady Wolves were; Briana Baquera, 112; Brooklyn Ashley, 115; Rachel Weger, 130; Kendra Haslam, 140.
