The Lady Savages lost 10-1 to Tahlequah in the 6A slow pitch quarterfinals on Tuesday.

The Tecumseh Lady Savages’ stay in the 6A slow pitch softball state tournament was a short one, as they fell to eventual runner-up Tahlequah 10-1 in the quarterfinals at the Ballfields at Firelake on Tuesday.

The Lady Tigers (36-6) scored two runs in the first inning when Kortney Dry hit a home run to right field. Tahlequah got four more hits and three runs in the second inning to take a 5-0 lead.

The lead was 8-0 before the Lady Savages (25-14) got their first run in the top of the fifth inning. Bailey Smith led off the inning with a single and advanced to third on a double by Aspen Grimes before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Franki Hull.

The Lady Savages had two runners on base in the sixth when Logan Hays and Sierra Humphrey had base hits but were unable to cut into the lead.

Bub Peters added a two-run home run for the Lady Tigers, while Randee O’Donnell finished with three hits and two RBIs.
