  • Shawnee police detectives have arrested a suspect in the theft of a bulldozer from Shawnee Saw Mill.
On May 26, the owner of that business, Anthony Wall, reported a Mitsubishi bulldozer and a gooseneck trailer was stolen. The theft occurred at the business at 511 E. Highland sometime over the Memorial Day weekend.
Wall told police he had video footage of the suspect stealing the items.
Shawnee Police Chief Russell Frantz said Friday that detectives arrested Clayton Nelson, 49. Authorities still haven’t found the stolen items.
Nelson was being booked into the Pottawatomie County Public Safety Center Friday evening on complaints of grand larceny and driving under suspension.
Formal charges have not been filed but case reports will be turned over to the district attorney’s office.
