Over a dozen area players were named to the Oklahoma Coaches Association's All-State and All-Region baseball teams on Monday.

A number of area baseball players were named to the All-State and All-Region teams by the Oklahoma Coaches Association on Monday.

Dale’s Gage Ross and Chase Byndas, along with Asher’s Trucker Lee and Tanner Andrews, were named to the All-State Small East squad and will play in the OCA’s All-State baseball game in July.

Ross, a catcher, and Byndas, an infielder and pitcher, led the Pirates to the 2A state title in May, as Dale rallied from seven runs down to defeat Silo in the championship game.

Lee, an outfielder, and Andrews, Asher’s leading pitcher, led the Indians to the Class B state title game, where they lost to Red Oak.

The All-State baseball games will be played on July 29 at J.L. Johnson Stadium on the campus of Oral Roberts University. The small school contest, featuring players from Class B through Class 2A, will begin at 4:30 p.m., with the large school game to follow at approximately 7 p.m.

Nearly a dozen players were named to the Region 6 Large East squad. Shawnee infielder Colin Robertson was the only Wolf named to the team despite missing the final month of the season due to a wrist injury.

Tecumseh had three players named to the team, including pitcher Jacob Smiley, catcher Micah Sanchez and outfielder Rylan Pierce.

Bethel had two players named to the team in first baseman Brooks Richards and infielder Garrett Fitzgerald.

McLoud placed three representatives on the team in first baseman Deven Dart, infielder Will Olds and outfielder James Goad. Seminole infielder Xavier Freeman was also named to the team.

Dale’s Tanner Nelson was named to the Region 6 Small East team.
