Today brings a high near 92 and a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms, featuring a preview of what is anticipated to be a series of rainy days.
A 40 percent chance of showers persists through the evening, with gusts as high as 25 mph possible. The National Weather Service predicts the likelihood of storms remains beyond tonight.
“We continue with a pretty good chance of more thunderstorm activity through the weekend,” NWS Ken Gallant said.
Chances for showers and thunderstorms settle at 50 and 60 percent Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
“It’s not going to rain all the time, but there will be periods of rain and thunderstorms off and on,” Gallant predicted.
Gallant said patterns, at this point, do not point to tornadoes, though other hazardous conditions are more likely.
“The main severe weather threat is large hail, damaging winds and heavy rains,” he said.
A 50 percent chance of storms lingers through Monday.
