  • Up until this last weekend, I didn’t realize how much of a nerd I really am. If you are anything like me, then Netflix is a site that can expose the nerd in you, and easily keep you from having any real social life.
Thanks to Netflix, I get to watch some pretty interesting movies and shows.
This can sometimes turn into a little bit of a dichotomy though.
There are things on Netflix that I wish I never watched. Such as, “Orange is the New Black.”
“Orange is the New Black” is a Netflix original series that everyone seems to enjoy. Well, not me. Now, I don’t have anything against those who do enjoy it. Everyone has his or her own tastes.
With that said, Netflix has also introduced me into some amazing movies and shows I never knew existed. Such as, “Spaceballs.”
Some of you know exactly what movie I’m talking about. For those of you who don’t know what I’m talking about, allow me to explain.
“Spaceballs” is a Star Wars spoof directed, written, and starred in by Mel Brooks that came out in June 1987.
The movie also stars Bill Pullman as Lone Starr (spoof of Hans Solo).
Lone Starr and his sidekick, Barf (which is his Mog; half man, half dog) are hired to save the Princess of Druidia from being kidnapped by the Spaceballs.
Dark Helmet, played by Rick Moranis (spoof of Darth Vader), is hired by the President of Planet Spaceballs to lead the Spaceballs, and try to take all the air from planet Druidia, and bring it back to his planet.
Then we have Yogurt (spoof of Yoda), and instead of the Force, it’s Schwartz.
I realize what I just explained sounds pretty stupid, but if you ever need a good laugh, I recommend this movie!
As soon as I finished it, I had to stop and think for a second.
Did I really just laugh at every single joke in this movie? Am I that much of a nerd?
The answer is yes. I am in fact a nerd.
May the Schwartz be with you!
