Our family, like most, buys our own fireworks to put on a show. I guess you can say it’s kind of a tradition. We have a little cookout, sit around and talk and laugh about the past.
This year, if all goes well, will be the same.
This weekend I will be going to Lake Texoma. My grandmother has a little place down there. Nice and quiet, until we get down there of course.
We shoot our fireworks off down there almost every year. And this year I’m extremely excited because I saved up enough money to buy a whole lot of cool, loud, colorful fireworks.
Unlike last year, I wasn’t able to do that, because I didn’t think ahead. I did get a few fireworks, but nowhere near what I bought this year.
I’ve been ready to pop these off for a couple weeks now, not sure how much longer I can wait.
I’ve been really antsy. Especially when I come home from work and see them all sitting there. Tempting me to light them.
Hopefully there won’t be an alien invasion we have to take care of first! I know, I know, I watch too many movies…
I already know I will probably be put in a food coma, thanks to my grandmother’s wonderful cooking. I also get to have homemade ice cream. Needless to say, I’m very lucky!
The most important activity this weekend though, will be getting the chance to spend time with family I don’t get to see all that often! We usually sit around and play card games. I’m sure this year will be no different.
There will be a lot of traffic out this weekend, so please be safe! Don’t hurt yourself with the firecrackers either (I usually burn my self once or twice). I wish you all a fun and wonderful Independence Day!
