New CASAs take oath to serve children.

Six Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASAs) recently completed training at Youth and Family Resource Center, Inc. in Shawnee and have been appointed by Judge John Gardner, Associate District Judge, to advocate for children from abusive or negligent homes.

Advocating in Court,in schools, assisting case workers and foster parents, one family at a time, will be the role of these CASAs. They join eight other CASA volunteers already active in Pottawatomie County.

CASA is a nation-wide volunteer network of committed people from all walks of life who believe society has a fundamental obligation to give these children a voice.
