When you see someone who is in very good shape physically, chances are high they have put in lots of hard work, dedication, and passion over an extended period of time. This level of achievement should not, and cannot be rushed to happen overnight.
When you see someone who is in very good shape physically, chances are high they have put in lots of hard work, dedication, and passion over an extended period of time. This level of achievement should not, and cannot be rushed to happen overnight. Instead, you must view it as a continuous work in progress that improves, because of strategic updates, fueled from your passion and goals. A little work here, and a little work there, over time, goes a very long way in the health and fitness results you see today. People who excel in fitness, have a goal of maintaining the best health and performance results as humanly possible, and are willing to trade their time, spend their resources, and take the necessary continuous steps to maintain them. Maintaining this level of fitness is not easy, but in all of my nearly 20 years of training, I have never seen a person who loses a large amount of unhealthy weight be anything but extremely excited and filled with joy! They always say it was worth the effort, their lives have been changed, and appreciate how much better they look, feel and are performing.
Our health and fitness is just a continuous work in progress that we attempt to improve upon as every opportunity arises. It is important for everyone to realize that establishing good health and nutritional habits takes time. Always remember not to put unnecessary pressure on yourself for absolutely no reason! Rushing your results simply brings upon stress, which is no good for your health, and is linked to unrealistic expectations and discouragement. Can you guess what happens next? Once discouraged, we find a way to go back to the bad habits that lead us to poor health in the first place, and ultimately makes us discontinue our wellness program altogether. But of course, today we are not going to allow that to even be an option, right? So, please slow down and patiently wait on results, try and smell the roses, and make it a continuous work in progress of baby steps on the way to your goals!
You should stay proud of yourself as long as you are setting realistic goals and making continuous progress towards them, no matter how slow you think it is happening! It simply does not matter if it takes you three years to get to a goal you thought you should have attained in one year. The most important thing to remember is that you made it a continuous work in progress, and got there! During your first year you attained 1/3 of your goal. The second year you achieved 2/3 of your goal, and finally after 3 years you met 100% of your goal. This is great because not only did you reach your goals, but along the way, you were receiving progressive health and fitness benefits each of the 3 years! I would also be willing to bet, that at this point, you will look better, feel better, and be performing better than you have in many years! This success cycle is great because it will motivate you to attain your next goal, as well as continue your health and wellness improvement programs as a way of life!
I would also like to challenge you to keep your energy levels up. If your energy goes, so to does your ability and drive to produce results. Throughout the course of life we have become deficient in valuable vitamins and minerals due to poor food choices, busy schedules, poor planning, processed foods, and pollution etc... Using a healthy meal plan and supplementing with a good nutrition program are a great way to close the gaps on your nutritional deficits, while giving your body the healthy support, and energy it takes to maintain an active lifestyle.
Eliminating poor habits and replacing them with good ones like healthy eating, taking your vitamins, and drinking your fluids, are great ways to exhibit continuous works in progress towards your health and fitness goals!
A little bit here, and a little bit there, truly will go a very long way! It’s all about doing something consistently well, over a long enough period of time, to produce results! Fitness enthusiasts, this is something we all can do!
