  • Meeker student qualifies for national track meet

  • Meeker freshman Justis Cryer recently qualified for the 37th and final Hershey’s Track and Field North American Finals, which will be held in Hershey, Pa. this Saturday.
    A total of 450 athletes will participate in the games, with five of those coming from the state of Oklahoma.
    Cryer, who has won 52 medals in individual and relay competitions during middle school, will be competing in the 1600-meter run. He won both the 800 and the 1600 at a qualifying event held on the campus of the University of Oklahoma on June 28.
    Cryer will be traveling to Pennsylvania on Thursday. He also plays football, basketball and baseball at Meeker, where he will begin his freshman year in August.
