A Shawnee woman was injured Wednesday afternoon in a rollover crash in Pontotoc County.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol worked the scene about 10 miles west of Ada.
A 1996 Toyota driven by George Lewallen, 68, Achille, was westbound on SH 3W when a tire tread came off the left rear tire. As a result, troopers said Lewallen lost control of the vehicle before it ran off the roadway and overturned three-quarters of turn, coming to rest on its side.
A passenger, Melissa Sanchez, 35, from Shawnee, was ejected 25 feet, the patrol reported.
She was transported by Medi Flight helicopter ambulance to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City, where she was admitted in stable condition with internal trunk injuries.
The OHP said seat belts were in use by Lewallen, who was not injured.
