  • Earlsboro readies for new school year

  • Earlsboro Public Schools students will begin enrolling for the upcoming school year today and Friday, Aug. 8.
     
    Enrollment for all students will be done at Earlsboro High School. Doors will be open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
     
    Classes are set to begin Thursday, August 14. Teachers will report Monday, August 11.
     
    No new construction projects began over the summer, but Ryan Friend, high school principal and instructor, said the district should be adding a new bus barn soon.
     
    The district is adding three new faculty members to its staff. Michael Goats is the new elementary principal. Stacy Barton has been hired to teach high school math and Bonny Lankford will teach sixth grade.
     
    School hours for the upcoming year will be 8:20 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Office hours are 7:45 a.m. to a little after 4 p.m.
     
    Parents and students are also encouraged to attend the district’s open house night, which will be Tuesday, August 12 at the child’s respective school.
