A two-run home run in the second inning was the only scoring in the Pirates' first loss of the season.

DALE – Dalton Reed struck out 10 Dale hitters as the Roff Tigers handed the Pirates their first loss of the year 2-0 in the Dale Tournament on Friday.

Reed allowed just two hits, a single by Logan Carter and a base hit by Hunter Sanford, along with three walks.

C.J. Johnson had a two-run home run in the top of the second for the game’s only runs.

Sanford allowed three hits and one walk on 95 pitches in taking the loss.

Dale will play Asher in the third place game at 3:15 p.m. on Saturday.
