  • Dale and Bethel both won two games at the Tuttle Tournament at Firelake on Friday, staying undefeated in the first week of the season.

  • Dale wins two at Tuttle Tourney
    The Dale Lady Pirates moved to 5-0 on the season with two more wins at the Tuttle Tournament at Firelake on Friday.
    The Lady Pirates scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to down Blanchard 2-1 in their first game of the day.
    Dani Manning had both RBIs in the game, driving in a run in the fourth and the winning run in the sixth. Shelby Savage scored both runs.
    Taylor Powell moved to 3-0 on the season, giving up five hits and striking out seven.
    In the second game Dale run-ruled Bethany 11-1 in five innings.
    Led by Lacey Hood’s three hits, the Lady Pirates scored 9 runs in the fifth inning to blow the game open.
    Kylee Burris and Regan Holt had two hits apiece as Dale had 12 hits in the game.
    Lauren Hood was the winning pitcher, moving to 2-0 on the season.
    Dale will play Piedmont at 2:30 p.m. and Cache at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
    Bethel downs Lone Grove, Lexington
    The Bethel Lady Wildcats cruised to a pair of wins to stay undefeated in the first week of the season, beating Lone Grove 13-0 and Lexington 10-1 at the Tuttle Tournament at Firelake on Friday.
    The Lady Wildcats (5-0) scored in the second and five in the third in the win over Lone Grove. Bry Flanagan and Rachel Stark had three hits apiece, while Kelsey Eropkin, Makayla Whitten, Montana Price and Zoe Rainer all had two hits.
    Eropkin finished the game with four RBI and two stolen bases. Flanagan had two RBI, while Whitten, Price, Stark and Rainer all knocked in a run.
    Kim Herron pitched four innings to get the win, allowing two hits while striking out five.
    Rainer was the winner in the second game against Lexington, allowing four hits and a walk in four innings.
    Eropkin had two more hits and a two-run double in the second, while Flanagan added a two-run home run in the same inning.
    In all, Bethel scored 9 runs in the second inning.
    Herron added two hits including a triple, while Rainer was 2-2 and Rylee Steward added 2 RBI.
    The Lady Wildcats will play Washington at 2:30 p.m. and Choctaw at 4 p.m. on Saturday.
