  • The older I get, the more I begin to realize how important it is to start saving money. With the cost of living going up, this becomes harder and harder to do.
I’m only 20, but I do have a few bills such as car payments, car insurance, student loans and so on and so on.
Also, anytime I go into a store to get the bare necessities, I walk out with more than what I needed. The problem is, I’m an impulse buyer. Stores know how to reel me in, and thanks to almost always getting a good deal on online shopping sites, I tend to spend the money I’m trying to put back for emergencies.
I buy a lot of my favorite older movies online that I cannot seem to find in store. I also buy a lot of music, and merchandise of my favorite artists, bands, movies, and TV shows.
I also tend to eat out at restaurants a lot with friends, and if we end up at a nice restaurant, it can get expensive. At the time, I don’t really care what my bill ends up being. I’m there to have fun.
I have recently been doing a lot better at controlling my impulse buys though. I’m also working on my attempt to cut some of the expenses I don’t really need.
Like, for example, my satellite radio. I hardly ever use it. I use CDs or I plug my phone in and use the music on there.
Although, with football season just around the corner, my impulse buys are going to be harder to control.
Every year I buy new Sooner gear to represent their hopeful national title run.
Once again, I have been doing better, and I have money put back. I continue to put money back out of each and every paycheck, just in case of any emergencies in the near future.
Just to be clear, my definition of emergency can range from another impulse buy, to my car breaking down. (I’m only kidding, of course.)
