Dale lost to Binger-Oney on a walk-off hit in the finals of the Tournament of Champions.

TUTTLE – Binger-Oney scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to take the title at the Tuttle Tournament of Champions on Saturday, snapping the Dale Pirates’ five-game winning streak in the process.

The Pirates (6-2) scored a run in the top of the inning to take the lead, only to see the Bobcats (10-1) take the title with a walk-off hit in the bottom of the inning.

Dale mustered just two hits in the contest, striking out 11 times.

“It’s hard to win when you only get two hits,” head coach Jerry Sanford said.

Gunner Hathcock and Dillon Lang had the only hits in the game for the Pirates.

Dale reached the finals with wins over Ninnekah and Ft. Cobb-Broxton on Thursday and Friday.

The Pirates only needed three innings to run-rule Ninnekah on Thursday. Logan Carter was the winning pitcher, striking out four and facing the minimum in three innings of work.

“He threw the ball really well,” Sanford said.

On Friday the Pirates used a five-run sixth inning to come back and defeat the Mustangs.

The Pirates scored one in the first and three in the third to take a 4-0 lead, only to see Ft. Cobb (10-6) rally with five in the top of the sixth.

Dale pitching helped things along with nine walks and one hit batter.

Lane Cox had two doubles and three RBI for Dale, while Logan Carter went 2-4 with three RBI. Dillon Lang added a pair of hits while Joe Buckendorff had a triple.

Cox got the win on the mound, striking out three and walking three after coming on in relief in the fourth inning.

Dale will host Roff on Monday at 4:30 and will play at Okarche on Tuesday.
