Tecumseh wins two at Prague tourney

PRAGUE – The Tecumseh Lady Savages gutted out a 2-1 win over 3A No.9 Okemah, their second win of the day at the Prague Tournament on Friday.

The Lady Savages third game against Choctaw was not completed by deadline.

Kaley Johnson had the go-ahead RBI in the win over the Lady Panthers, hitting a one-out single in the fourth for the second and final run.

Suni Meely tied the score with an RBI double in the third, driving in Ashley Santino, who reached on a leadoff walk to start the inning.

Caitlin Bingham was the winning pitcher, striking out six and allowing four hits in five innings.

The Lady Savages (11-2) started off the day with an 18-0 win over Coalgate in three innings. Johnson had two hits in that game, including a double. Sierra Humphrey pitched a perfect three innings for the win.

Herring, Chandler, shuts out Latta

PRAGUE – Neleigh Herring threw six shutout innings and drove in the game’s only run as the Chandler Lady Lions defeated Latta 1-0 late Thursday at the Prague Tournament.

Herring allowed five hits and two walks while striking out five in six innings of work.

She also doubled home Chastyn Spruill with the game’s only score in the fourth inning. Spruill reached base with a double of her own.

The win was the 10th in a row for the Lady Lions, who are now 16-2 on the season.

Asher shuts out Maud

ASHER – Tarin Dubler pitched a shutout and had two hits as the Asher Lady Indians defeated their Pott County neighbors from Maud 1-0 in the Asher Tournament on Friday.

Dubler gave up three hits and a walk while striking out six in five innings of work. Mikaila Brooks added two hits for Asher.

The Lady Indians (11-3) will play Stonewall in the semifinals at 11 a.m. on Saturday.

Jocee Gamble took the loss for Maud, allowing four hits while striking out three.

Maud defeated Wynnewood 9-0 in their other game of the day.

Gamble again had a strong performance in the circle, striking out seven and allowing three hits.

Maud got on the board in the second inning with an RBI triple by Dallas Tiger, eventually taking a 2-0 lead. The Lady Tigers added three more in the fourth and four more in the sixth.

Megan Willis finished 2-4 with a two-run double in the sixth, while Britni Bailey was 2-3 with 3 RBI, including a two-run single in the sixth. Kierstin Regan added two RBI.

Maud will play Stratford for third on Saturday.
