  • Rock Creek Baptist Church Faithriders' annual run is Saturday.

  • Rock Creek Baptist Church Faithriders will hold their annual Marble Run for motorcycle enthusiasts this Saturday Sept. 6. All entry fees will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
     
    This Marble Run is a registered Wounded Warrior Project event. Entry fee is $15 per rider and $10 for a passenger. The Wounded Warrior Project assists service members who have been injured in the line of duty. The Wounded Warrior Project support a range of programs and services for this generation of injured veterans and their families.
     
    The Marble run will start and end at Rock Creek Baptist Church located on the corner of Hardesty and South Rock Creek Rd. (44900 Hardesty Rd.) Shawnee. Registration will begin at 8 am. The first bike out will be at 8:30 a.m. and the last bike out will be at 10:30 a.m.. All riders are encouraged to return by 2 pm. The church will provide a free burger lunch with all the fixings while the prizes are awarded.
     
    There will be cash prizes for 1st, 2nd, and last place points along with door prizes. Because of the support by local business and Rock Creek Baptist Church 100 percent of all entry fees will go directly to the Wounded Warrior Project.
     
    Over 47,000 service men and women have been injured in the recent military conflicts. In addition to these physical wounds it is estimated that as many as 400,000 service members live with invisible wounds of war including combat related stress, major depression and post-traumatic stress disorder. Another 320,000 are believed to have experienced traumatic brain injury while on deployment.
