I have mentioned in the past that I’m a huge football fan, more specifically a Sooner fan. Saturday came, and I was all decked out in my Sooner gear. I was extremely anxious for the game to start. I knew Oklahoma was going to win, or they should have anyways.
I’m always interested in the season openers the most because; I love to compare how my favorite team plays at the beginning of the season to how they play at the end of the season. Most teams, like OU and OSU, tend to get better every game. Every now and then the teams can fall off in areas, but nobody is perfect.
Once again, if you have read my past columns, I’ve mentioned my dad and I bond over sooner football. Obviously this year is no different, except we had my aunt over with us to enjoy the fun.
The only activity missing from the season opener was the fact we didn’t have to yell. To be honest, the game was pretty boring. Unlike the OSU game that was very close and exciting, OU’s game was slow, due to the fact it was pretty much over in the first quarter.
I believe it’s always good to start out with an easier team, than to start with a real tough team, just to get into the swing of things. There is still a lot of football to go, and I am going to enjoy every second, minute, and hour of it. I don’t care if its college or NFL. I love to see players get hit hard, break tackles and make one handed catches.
This is the exciting time of the year for people like my father and I. My mom on the other hand is dreading it. She’s not a big fan of the yelling and jumping, she just waits in the other room until the game is over and asks what the final score is.
    Welcome Back Football Season!
