In the heart of the approaching Avedis Foundation Health Week is a planned, action-packed day. A May 27 event, designed to promote wellness through a range of activities, will cater to area youth.

Krazy Kids Day kicks off at 10 a.m. at Shawnee’s Boy Scout Park. Organizer John Ayers gave insight to the occasion’s offerings.

“We’re going to have all sorts of games for kids,” he said.

A sample of games includes an obstacle course, inflatables, a sack race, a zip line, a dunk tank and a rock-climbing wall.

“We’re giving out gifts, all day long,” Ayers added, noting attendees will have a chance to win a summer pass to Shawnee Splash.

The first 100 youth will win a T-shirt. The artwork of Jessie Martin, student at Shawnee Public Schools, was recently selected as the T-shirt design. Ayers said Martin’s work was chosen for its depiction of the scheduled activities.

Boy Scout Park is located at East Main Street and North Pesotum Avenue.
