SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Texas-based rockers Drowning Pool will bring their “Know Your Enemy” tour to Shawnee with a 6:30 p.m. performance today at Fusion Affect, 110 W. Main.
The concert also features Another Black Day, Throw the Fight, V.O.L., Deadset and Siva. Doors open at 6 p.m., and cost is $20. The show is for all ages.
Drowning Pool recently earned a nod for Blender Breakout Video on www.blender.com for “37 Stitches.” The video features an acoustic performance of the song and highlights the band’s recent visit to Capitol Hill, where they met Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
Because of a large fan response on tour, online and a fan-made YouTube video that had more than a quarter million views, the band decided to release “37 Stitches” as their next single and shoot a new music video for commercial radio Aug. 18.
Of “37 Stitches,” singer Ryan McCombs said: “This song means a lot to us as a band, and I’m really happy we’re getting the chance to put it out as a single. It’s a heartfelt song inspired by our loved ones … the unsung heroes who support us day after day, yet we’re the ones who get all the glory and spotlight. We hope that it resonates with our fans — old and new — who want to pay homage to their own support systems.”
“37 Stitches” follows the success of Drowning Pool’s first two radio singles, “Soldiers” and “Enemy,” which each stayed on the charts for more than six months and also mark the band’s first release of a ballad.
Drowning Pool has been on the tour for more than a year across the United States, Europe and Canada. On Aug. 9, Drowning Pool will mark their 250th show in support at Ozzfest 2008 in their hometown of Dallas, Texas. The band will be on the road throughout the summer performing headline and festival dates with a range of artists, including Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Judas Priest, Puddle of Mudd, Shinedown, Sevendust, Nonpoint, Saliva, Staind, and Another Black Day.
Drowning Pool is: Ryan McCombs, lead vocals; C.J. Pierce, guitars/vocals; Stevie Benton, bass/vocals; and Mike Luce, drums/vocals.
