FLBA members attend leadership conference

MAUD, Okla. —

Seven members and advisers from Maud chapter of Future Business Leaders of America attended the 2009 Oklahoma FBLAPBL State Fall Leadership Conference at Southwestern Oklahoma State University Oct. 10 in Weatherford.
“FBLA-PBL: Simply the Best” was the theme for the event. Keynote speaker was Rhett Laubach. Members attended various breakout sessions during the conference.
Workshop presenters included Lisa Smothers, FBLA-PBL National Membership Director; Linda Morgan, Oklahoma FBLA-PBL State Adviser; Jr. Calton, Oklahoma FBLA-PBL State Officer Team Adviser; Laura Morgan, Oklahoma FBLA-PBL State Administrative Assistant; Gloria Lau, 2009-2010 PBL National President; Mary Marshall, Tax Associate, Grant Thornton, LLP; Janet Hixon, President of the Caddo Kiowa Toastmasters Club; Ronda Weaver, Secretary of the Caddo Kiowa Toastmasters Club; Tori Bookout, FBLA State Secretary; Jacob Greer, PBL Four-Year University Vice President; Ryan Zilm, PBL State President; and Tia Kelley, Eastern Oklahoma State College PBL Adviser.
Members participated in a canned food drive with proceeds going to the Agape Clinic Food Pantry in Weatherford.
Attending from Maud were advisor Allen Reynolds, along with members Kennedy Reynolds, Tasha Cameron, Jessi Harjo, Nikki Sockey, Bailea Duncan and Paige Mcclanahan.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc., is a national student vocational education association that prepares students for careers in business and business education.
Membership is over 260,000 in 11,000 chapters across the United States and abroad. Future Business Leaders of America has two divisions--mid-Ievel and high school and Phi Beta Lambda is the collegiate division.
