SHAWNEE, Okla. —

After multiple moves, name changes and an absence of more than two years, Shawnee’s trailer retailer, Durabuilt Trailers, has re-opened.
Located at the intersection of I-40 and State Highway 102, Durabuilt Trailers has been Shawnee’s locally owned and operated full service trailer supply since 1990.
Durabuilt Trailers, formerly Trailer Supply Center, opened in 1990 on the north side of the intersection of I-40 and SH 102, where the FireLake Grand Casino is.
After successfully operating for almost 12 years at this location, Durabuilt Trailers was approached by the Citizen Potawatomi Nation to acquire the land for what is now FireLake Grand Casino.
Durabuilt spokesman Rob Belshe said that they were happy to accommodate the tribe’s wish to build a casino – even though it meant shutting down operations and moving.
“ We felt that returning the land to the Indian Trust for the casino was not only in our best interests but also for the future economic growth of the Shawnee and McLoud areas.
“It was a win-win situation,” Belshe said.
After uprooting and moving to the south side of I-40 and SH 102, Durabuilt faced yet another obstacle when within less than two years at the new location, the state of Oklahoma began construction on the new I-40 and SH 102 exit and overpass.
“We had just begun operating at full speed when the new construction began,” Belshe said.
Construction lasted more than two years forcing Durabuilt Trailers to close down operations.
Belshe said it was tough but they knew that the new Interchange was essential for Shawnee’s future economic development.
“We knew we would have to make a sacrifice and cease operations until the Interchange was completed, but we were looking at the bigger picture,” Belshe said.
“The McLoud and Shawnee area’s economic growth has been positively impacted by the construction of the new Interchange,” Belshe said.
Finally, after a two-year absence, name change, new management and multiple moves Shawnee’s oldest full service trailer center, Durabuilt Trailers, is reopen for business.
Construction on Durabuilt’s current location started in the fall 2008.  Grand opening activities will occur throughout June.
“We are extremely happy to be reopened at our new location, and want to thank all of our loyal customers for their patience during our absence,” Belshe said.
Located at the intersection of I-40 and SH 102, just south of FireLake Grand Casino, Durabuilt Trailers carries a complete line of trailers and parts.
Durabuilt Trailers also is a full-service repair and custom manufacturing facility.  Product lines include Durabuilt Trailers, WW Trailers, CM Trailers & Truck Beds, J&I Truck Beds, Belshe Trailers, Cody Towing Products, DrawTite, Reese Hitches, and AL-KO brakes and axles among others.
Durabuilt Trailers is also Oklahoma’s only authorized Belshe Trailers service and repair facility.  Durabuilt Trailers is open from Monday through Saturday 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
