Crimson Storm get new head coach

BETHANY, Okla. (AP) — —

Southern Nazarene hired former Army assistant Adam Bohac as its new men’s basketball coach on Tuesday.
At 26, Bohac will be the second-youngest head coach in the program’s history.
Bohac served as an assistant to former Crimson Storm coach Mike Broughton for three seasons after completing his collegiate career at Nebraska. He then spent last season as an assistant coach for Army.
Only Larry Mills, who was 24 when he was hired as Southern Nazarene’s coach in 1969, was a younger coach for the Crimson Storm.
Rangers’ batting leader leaves game with injury
ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Milton Bradley, the American League batting leader, left the Texas Rangers’ game against the Atlanta Braves on Tuesday night with a mild left quadriceps strain.
Bradley got hurt while running out a two-run single into the right-center field gap in the third inning for the Rangers. Bradley reached down at his leg before even getting to first base, then pulled up without going for second base.
After manager Ron Washington and a trainer went to check on him, Bradley ran a sprint down the right-field line. But he then went to the dugout and was replaced by Brandon Boggs.
Olympic torch to stop in Tibet, head to China
BEIJING (AP) — Organizers of the Olympic torch relay say the flame will reach Tibet on Saturday in a one-day stop that has been shrouded in secrecy.
The torch will reach Lhasa after winding through Xinjiang province, also in China’s restive west.
The torch was originally supposed to go through Tibet Wednesday or Thursday. It’s not clear why the date was changed.
Penny on disabled list
CINCINNATI (AP) — The Los Angeles Dodgers put right-hander Brad Penny, a Broken Arrow native, on the 15-day disabled list Tuesday with a sore shoulder that has bothered him for much of the season, then sent right-hander Hiroki Kuroda back to Los Angeles to have a sore shoulder examined.
Penny went 0-7 in his last eight starts and lasted only 3 2-3 innings in a 12-7 loss in Detroit on Saturday. He said after the game that his shoulder has been bothering him for much of the season. He has been taking pain medication before starts because of the shoulder.
Raider still in hospital
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker remained hospitalized with a concussion and a battered face Tuesday, one day after he was beaten, robbed and left unconscious on a Las Vegas street after a night of partying.
Police said a large amount of cash and some jewelry were taken from Walker.
