Oklahoma Baptist will begin its women’s postseason soccer schedule at home Saturday against Rogers State.
Game time is 2 p.m.
The Lady Bison are 12-6 on the season and finished the regular season as the No. 3 seed in the Sooner Athletic Conference.
The 12 wins mark the second-highest win total in Lady Bison history. The 2005 team won 14 matches, advancing to the regional finals.
The Lady Bison are led by Courtney Anderson’s school record 19 goals, including a school-record seven game-winners. She is eighth in the NAIA in goals per game.
Kimmia Parker leads Rogers State with 16 goals. The Hillcats have three players with double-digit goal totals this season.
Rogers State comes in with a 12-6 record. OBU won the regular season match against Rogers State in Claremore, 1-0, on a second-half goal by Lin Yan.
The winner of Saturday’s contest meets Southern Nazarene in the semifinals Tuesday.
Saturday’s other first-round match has Oklahoma City at USAO with the winner to travel to John Brown on Tuesday.
OBU 4, MACU 0 (Men)
Oklahoma Baptist ended its men’s soccer season with a 4-0 win over Mid-America Christian Tuesday, featuring a hat trick by Victor Costa.
The Bison got two goals from Costa in the first half. Costa scored with an assist from Connor Adams in the eighth minute and with an assist from Yalli Oliveira in the 15th minute.
Oliveira added a goal in the 69th minute, getting an assist from Adams for a 3-0 lead.
Costa got his hat trick goal with an assist from Cristiano Sampaio.
The game was the last match for seniors Indrit Vucaj, Jason Eversole and James Gilreath.
OBU ends the season at 5-10-3 with a 3-6 Sooner Athletic Conference record, just missing the six-team postseason playoffs in seventh place.
