At the end of a three-day filing period, a number of races developed for board of education seats in Seminole County.
Facing off for Office 4 with the Konawa Public Schools board of education will be Marion Hatter, Nathan Potts and incumbent Tammie Tooley.
Tim Matthews and incumbent Dewayne Streater will face off for Office 4 with the New Lima Public Schools board.
Tim Porter and incumbent Donna Quinalty will face off for Office 2 with the Varnum Public Schools board of education.
Incumbent Chuck Plunkett drew no opposition in his bid for re-election to Office 4 with the Bowlegs Public Schools board of education, and incumbent James Choate drew no opposition in his bid for re-election to Office 2 with at Pleasant Grove.
Incumbent Jeff Hudson filed unopposed in his bid for re-election to Office 4 in Sasakwa, and incumbent Mike Vanlandingham filed unopposed in his bid for re-election to Office 4 with the Seminole Public Schools board of education.
Incumbent Laura Kincade drew no opposition in her bid for re-election to Office 4 in Strother, and incumbent Berto Massey was unopposed while bidding for re-election to Office 4 in Wewoka.
Candidates who filed unopposed will automatically be appointed to their desired seats. An election will be held 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Feb. 10, and if no candidate in a race receives more than 50 percent of the vote, the two candidates with the highest number of votes will meet in a run-off election April 7.
