SEMINOLE, Okla. —

Dr. Jim Utterback, president of Seminole State College, has been selected as vice chair of the Oklahoma Educational Television Authority Board.
The mission of OETA is to make educational and public television services available to all Oklahoma citizens on a coordinated statewide basis, through various educational and cultural agencies under the direction and supervision of the Authority Board.
The Authority Board consists of thirteen members, including six ex-officios and seven appointed by the Governor with approval from the Senate.  Board members serve seven-year terms. 
Utterback is serving his fourth year on the OETA board. 
Other members are Jean Hendrickson, chair; John McCarroll, executive directo; Suzanne Lair, secretary-treasurer; Lisa Harbison; Brent Houston; Elaine Hobson; Clarke Stroud; Dr. Cindy Ross; Dr. Glen Johnson; Burns Hargis; David Boren; Mary Ann Fergeson; and Sandy Garrett. 
Utterback is in his thirteenth year as President at SSC. He began at Seminole after seven years at Dodge City Community College in Dodge City, Kan, where he served as dean of students.
Utterback, past chair of both the Oklahoma State Regents Council of Presidents and the Council of Two-Year College Presidents, has been active in leadership roles across the state.
He has chaired the legislative committee for the Council of Presidents and currently serves on the national Board of the American Association of Community Colleges.
Utterback is a member of the Advisory Board for the Jasmine Moran Children’s Museum, past president of the Seminole Chamber of Commerce and was named Seminole’s “Citizen of the Year” in 2004.
He is a member of the Seminole Rotary Club and an Advisor for the Seminole Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
