An Okmulgee man was seriously injured Friday night when the motorcycle he was riding crossed the center line and was struck by a big rig on S.H 62 in Lincoln County.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports show that 21-year-old Christopher Henshaw was westbound on S.H. 62 when Prague resident Amanda Montgomery — who was in front of Henshaw — slowed down because an oncoming big rig was traveling with its oversized load jutting into the westbound lane.
When Montgomery slowed down, the OHP report shows, Henshaw’s motorcycle struck her vehicle and crossed the center line and struck the big rig before rolling an unspecified number of times.
Henshaw was flown by helicopter to the OU Medical Center where he was admitted in serious condition with head, arm, leg, abdomen and internal injuries.
Both Montgomery and the truck driver were wearing seat belts and neither were injured in the accident.
The accident occurred June 12 at around 5:30 p.m. near the intersection of S.H. 62 and County Road 3520 in Lincoln County.
The OHP report does not indicate whether Henshaw was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
