An agriculture pesticide container recycling program will be held 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds in Chandler.
Acceptable items — which may also be dropped off in Prague during the same hours Aug. 4 — include 1-gallon, 2.5-gallon, 30-gallon and 55-gallon plastic pesticide containers. Containers must be empty, triple-rinsed and dry.
Stained containers are acceptable. Household chemical containers will not be accepted.
Container caps cannot be recycled. Caps must be removed and disposed of as normal solid waste. Shrink-wrapped or glued-on container lids need not be removed.
Label booklets or pamphlets must be removed.
Car, tractor, truck and lawn mower batteries (lead acid only) will be accepted at the Lincoln County Fairgrounds and Gateway Ag Supplies in Prague on Aug. 4 only.
For more information, call the Lincoln County OSU Extension Service at 405-258-0560.
